LRI co-sponsors workshops and conferences with scientific societies, international organizations, and governmental agencies that are designed to focus on timely issues of mutual interest to these groups and to policy makers. The primary goals are to foster interactions among researchers and stakeholders, to stimulate discussions that can improve the scientific basis for policy-making and to support consensus building that can advance the risk assessment process. The International Council of Chemical Associations’ Long-Range Research Initiative (ICCA-LRI) and the UK’s Health Protection Agency are organizing a workshop focusing on the potential applications and implications of current technologies for chemical safety sciences. This workshop will also examine emerging issues that may influence developments in this area.
